We’re pleased to share the success of FairWind’s first Leadership and Management Course, designed and delivered with support from COMET. The course, called ‘Powering our Future Leaders’, took place last Wednesday and Thursday in Vejle, Denmark, and brought together people managers from across FairWind’s global teams.
This course, aimed at all of FairWind’s people managers, is designed to help create a unified leadership style throughout the company. The first session brought together managers from the UK, Sweden, Spain, Denmark, South Africa, and Poland, laying a strong foundation for the upcoming sessions. The next ones will be held in Szczecin, Poland, in October, followed by the final session in Texas, USA, in November.
What the Course Covered
The Leadership and Management course is part of Fairwind’s broader initiative to foster a cohesive leadership style. The course is structured to ensure that all their leaders follow consistent procedures, processes, and tools. It also aims to clarify roles and responsibilities across the company, providing clear guidelines and standards for effective leadership at FairWind.
The course was facilitated by our Specialist Learning & Development Partner - ED&I Lead, Nikki Wyatt, who always takes incredible energy and commitment to her sessions. Nikki's approach is very much hands-on and interactive, making sure that every participant is actively engaged in the discussions and activities. This approach was widely appreciated by the participants.
One of the participants, Jill Taylor, shared her experience, saying, “The course was presented at a good pace over the 2 days with a variety of learning methods which kept interest levels of participants high throughout. This, coupled with the experience and approach of the trainer, Nikki, who was really friendly and encouraging, made for a really enjoyable training course.”
Another participant Katarzyna Slowikowska highlighted the broader impact of the course, stating, "The course was a great experience not only for experienced leaders, but also for those who are at the beginning of their leadership journey. Not only was the knowledge of the professional trainer valuable, but additionally the exchange of experiences and viewpoints of the participants was an added value. This allowed for constructive discussion and contributed to several ideas and initiatives. It is worth appreciating that FairWind invests in its employees, which will undoubtedly contribute to a better functioning of the whole organisation."
